ABOUT
CHD Legacy was founded by Congenital Heart Disease survivor, Stephanie Romer - one of the oldest living survivors with half of a heart (HLHS).
She'd always dreamnt of creating one central location for her community where survivors, loved ones, and medical professionals could educate themselves, find others with CHD, and have an improved quality of life as a result of feeling not so isolated in the world.
The CHD Legacy Blog was born: Voices of CHD where she featured congenital heart disease survivors as well as her own blog where she speaks out about Taboo Subjects.
But then...her dream got bigger.
Her entire life she'd volunteered and worked around people of various disabilities and although she spent many years Advocagting for the CHD Community, she felt called for a bigger purpose after relating to the Invisible Disability community and speaking with hundreds of people like her who she felt all had in common SO MANY THINGS ABOUT LIFE - this birthed the new acronym for CHD meaning - Communities Honorying Disablities to proved anther space on the interent to feature people and subjects / stories for people of all Abilities to check out, get educated and feel honored... needs editied
for our loved ones and medical commuhnity also to see how MUCH we all have included and to begin to fight for big things together!
it all starts locally though which is whys she now features local leaders all over the world and shares what different communitites are doing to help their disabled commuhnity.
in st pete she is VP of Democratic Caucus fighting for change
